Always one of the most popular shapes in Campania, Ziti are perfect with intense seasonings capable of creating an excellent balance with the gustatory intensity of this extraordinary format of bronze-drawn Pasta di Gragnano PGI. Their name derives from the past custom that women without husbands - the "zite" in fact - had of staying at home to break up the pasta for Sunday sauces instead of going to mass with their families. Wrapped in "macaroni paper" as it was once done, this pasta format must be broken by hand before being dipped in water. Best performance? Pair them with "Genovese" meat sauce, one of the most classic Neapolitan preparations! Our pasta is PGI certified Gragnano pasta, bronze drawn, slowly dried at low temperatures, produced with 100% Italian durum wheat semolina and local spring water. Contains a minimum of 14% protein, firm when cooked and highly digestible.
